Nombre real: Helena Bonham Carter
Nacimiento: 26 de mayo de 1966 (Londres, Reino Unido)

Tataranieta del primer ministro británico H. H. Asquith y sobrina del director Anthony Asquith. Su abuelo materno era el diplomático español Eduardo Propper de Callejón. El padre de Helena era banquero, mientras que su madre era psicoterapeuta.

Protagonizó su primera película en 1986, Una habitación con vistas, del director James Ivory, con el cual también repetiría en El regreso de Howards End.

Fue nominada a un Globo de Oro por su actuación en Las alas de la paloma de Ian Softley.

Actuó de Bellatrix Lestrange en la pelicula Harry Potter y elCaliz de Fuego, Harry Potter y la Orden del Fenix y Harry Potter y el Medio-Principe.

Compartió su vida sentimental entre los años 1994 y 1999 con el actor y director Kenneth Branagh. Helena está actualmente ligada sentimentalmente al director de cine Tim Burton desde el año 2001, al que conoció en el rodaje de El planeta de los simios. La pareja tiene dos hijos, un varón llamado Billy, y una niña nacida en diciembre de 2007, llamada Indiana.
